The sea and river can be seen as a "vegetable garden" since edible seaweeds are available. There are over 200 species that can be consumed and with a worthwhile nutritional value.

The richness in minerals, vitamins, fiber, protein and omega-3 make many algae a perfect complement to a healthy diet. Some may have more calcium than cheese, more protein than an egg and more iron than a beef.

Wakame, Kombu, Nori and agar-agar are just some examples. Use them in soups, salads, stews or directly as an aperitif and surprise yourself with the flavors!
